Merrell was founded in 1981 by Randy Merrell, Clark Matis, and John Schweizer, who wanted to create high-performance hiking boots that were affordable and comfortable. Merrell is an American company that offers a wide range of styles for different activities and terrains, such as hiking, trail running, casual, work, and water.

Merrell is known for its innovative technology and design, such as the Vibram® sole, the M-Select™ system, and the Q-Form® cushioning. One of its popular collections was the Moab, released in 2006, which featured a breathable mesh upper, a supportive footbed, and a durable outsole, and attracted customers who loved hiking and exploring.

Another popular product was the Trail Glove, released in 2011, which featured a minimalist design, a flexible sole, and a glove-like fit, and appealed to customers who enjoyed barefoot running and natural movement. A classic product that has been popular since 1983 is the Wilderness Boot, a leather boot that comes in various colours and sizes.
